Dr William Van Gordon is a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Professor of Contemplative Psychology at the University of Derby, UK. He is widely regarded as a leading international expert in Contemplative Psychology and in the last 5 years alone, in addition to three books William has published over 100 academic papers, including in some of the world’s leading psychology and medical journals. William’s research has been described as “groundbreaking” by Grazia UK, and during the past 24 months, his work has been featured by national or major news outlets on more than 100 occasions in 15 different countries, including by the national BBC TV News Channel, BBC East-Midlands Today, BBC Inside Out, ITV, The Times, The Telegraph, BBC News (Online), The Sun, Express, Metro, talkRadio, Mail Online, and BBC Mundo. William also writes a regular blog on Contemplative Psychology for Psychology Today. Prior to joining academia, William was a Buddhist monk for ten years and he has previously worked in senior management roles for Marconi Plc, PepsiCo International and Aldi Stores Ltd. In the case of this latter position, he had total operational responsibility for a £28 million portfolio of six supermarkets with over 60 employees. William regularly travels all over the world to give keynote speeches, lectures and workshops on meditation and contemplative practice.
